About Aloha Stadium

Aloha Stadium opened in Honolulu in 1975 and became home to the Pacific Coast League's Hawaii Islanders, who won the PCL championship in their first season there. Sections of the grandstand were built on wheels so the stadium could be reconfigured between baseball and football, though mechanical problems led to the seating being permanently locked into a football layout in 2006. The San Diego Padres and St. Louis Cardinals played a three game regular season series there in April 1997, briefly making it a major league ballpark.
