About Kingdome
The Kingdome opened in Seattle in 1976 and became home to the Mariners the following year, hosting the team for 22 seasons. On July 19, 1994, ceiling tiles fell into the stands hours before a game, forcing the Mariners to play elsewhere while repairs were made; a month later, two workers repairing the roof died when their crane basket fell 250 feet. The Mariners played their last game there on July 27, 1999, and the Kingdome was imploded on March 26, 2000.
