About Metropolitan Stadium
Metropolitan Stadium was the Twins' outdoor home from the franchise's arrival from Washington in 1961 until 1981, when the team moved indoors to the Metrodome. It also hosted the NFL's Vikings for over two decades before being demolished, with the Mall of America now standing on part of the site.
