Traded players

I was watching BeatlesEternally’s show and he read the latest update notes. Great stuff, but a question:

The new feature about trades. I didn’t understand what you meant about trading players with their real numbers. Does that mean, for example, 1964 Lou Brock with his stats separately for Cubs and Cardinals?

Good question. That line covers something narrower: moving a player yourself during a season you're playing.

On any team's Active Roster screen, every player has a "Move to..." dropdown. You can use it to send a player to another club in your league, like making your own mid-season trade. Before this update, a player you moved was handled badly on his new team. He was missing from the Pitching Staff dropdowns and from the in-game bullpen and bench, and when he did play, the sim used a generic league-average line for him. Now he plays for his new club using his own real stats from that year, the same as everyone else on the roster.

About your Lou Brock example: the game puts a player traded during a real season on the team he finished that year with. 1964 Brock starts the season as a Cardinal, and the sim rates him on his Cardinals numbers from that year. His 1964 Cubs stint isn't used in a standard season.

Stats you build up in your own season are split by team. If you move Brock to another club partway through, his games before the move count for the team he left, and his games after count for his new team, like a real trade.
