AUTO SIM

Maybe I've missing something. Is it possible to Auto-Sim more than 1 day at a time? Like a month or the whole season.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate the game.

No. No plans to allow for more than one sim day at a time. It would tie up a lot of cpu time and the idea for the game is to mostly play the game as much as possible as opposed to running full sim seasons. Hope that makes sense.

Actually, if the interest is mostly curiosity about the sim engine and that sort of thing, I wouldn't be opposed to offering a side service (a display page I should say) where I could automate some seasons and display them so people could get a look and hopefully offer some advice or critiques on them.

For me, having the ability to sim more than a week at a time is twofold.

1. I am noticing that the game is not using Deadball era tactics IN Deadball but it will utilize them more post 1920. I have seen multi-error games, suicide squeezes, double steals, and steals of home post 1920 but never in Deadball in the game. As Deadball baseball is really my wheelhouse, I wanted the ability to sim out a season to check if the numbers are consistent with what one would see from Deadball.

2. I am running a multi-engine project with 1969 and I wanted to use ActionSims along with games such as OOTP, Action PC, Dombrov Baseball, Strategy Baseball, Stat Pro Baseball, and APBA PC Baseball so we could all geek out on stats from the various engines. Simming a day at a time will take ages.

Don't get me wrong! I LOVE playing the game but for certain projects, the ability to quick sim even just a month's worth of games at a time would be amazing.

About this:

If you have a few Deadball Era seasons in mind, I'd be happy to simulate them for you. I can run a full season pretty quickly in my local development environment, usually in about 25 minutes or so.

I'd need to figure out a convenient way to share the results so you could easily look through the statistics and see how everything compares to actual historical performance.

I know the results won't be perfect, but I'd really welcome your input, especially since this is an era you know so well. Having you review the numbers and point out where things seem off would be extremely helpful in getting the simulation better tuned to Deadball Era baseball.

I'd be more than happy to work with you on this!

Not looking for perfection, just believability :)

I think if you could sim 1908, I'd be able to look at the results/stats/ etc., and get a better sense of how the game handles the era.

Hey Beatles, I'll work on that one today and upload it here to the demo section.
