I can define a season, leagues, and divisions using my name.
How do I define team names?

You select an MLB team and replace the MLB team name with your team name.

Are you maybe asking for the ability to do this in a full or custom season too? Should be do-able for a custom season. I can this ability to it. But, we probably won't want to do it for a full historical season replay as that kind of defeats the purpose. Let me know.

I want to create teams made up of Hall of Fame players. I want to draft the players manually in a head-to-head draft. My current leagues use Strat-O-Matic Baseball (Windows). The maximum roster size in SOMBB is 40 players, 25 batters, and 15 pitchers. We draft 25 rounds for batters and 15 rounds for pitchers. I want ActionSims to allow 40 players per team,25 position players, and 15 pitchers. Without this change, I can still draft for this league with ActionSims by changing the league rules to a roster size of 30, 17 position players, and 13 pitchers.
When I create a Custom Draft Season, I must pick "Year" and select enough MLB teams to make up my fantasy league; for example, select Arizona, Atlanta, Boston, and Chicago for a four-team league. Add these teams to a custom league. Roster (4) contains the MLB teams I selected. Continue to Season Options -> select the "Configure The Season" option, "TEAM NAMES AND BALLPARKS (OPTIONAL)" to rename the MLB team names to my fantasy team names, and select "Draft for all teams" -> enter the "League Name" and now ready to "Start Draft." I would prefer not to select the MLB teams and go directly to the "TEAM NAMES AND BALLPARKS (OPTIONAL)" to name my fantasy league teams.
I'm not sure what the significance is of picking a year. I guess for my HOF (or franchise) league, the current year is a good choice. A franchise league includes all the best players who have played for a given franchise.

I can see how conceptually it can be an inconvenience, perhaps but when you're selecting teams at the beginning, you're essentially creating a collection of team names and nothing more.
So, the significance is that you don't have to input the names of the teams before we can set them. Not having the right input can cause some problems that I would rather not deal with for now. As such, we're likely not going to change that part. But, you can now change all of the team names if you like. As far as I can tell, it would be the same effort.
I'll try to help best I can and am usually happy to add any feature or enhancement I can but for now, I'm going to keep it as is since most players seem to be ok with it.
Hope this helps.

The current process is okay. A bit clumsy, but quite workable. I can live with the way ActinSims works today. When you have nothing to do, maybe you can revisit my request. I need to try a few more things, but Action Sims looks like a good replacement for SOMBB Windows and a much better option than SOMBB Max.

Are you wanting to change team names? If so, you can do that only in draft seasons. On the draft setup board, you have to set it for that then.
Have a look here: https://actionsims.com/baseball/documentation/#custom-draft-season
"Also on that screen, open Team Names and Ballparks to give any team a new city, nickname and abbreviation. The abbreviation fills in from the name as you type, and you can change it."
Let us know if you know if you're looking for something else.
