New feature
Game of the Day now awards strategy points for the calls you make for your team, such as steals, bunts, the hit and run, pinch hitters and bullpen moves, and each standings table has a Points column. Wins still rank first, then points; your result lists where your points came from, and the help page lists what each call is worth.
-
Bug fix
The announcer now calls every run that scores and every runner who moves up on a play, including walks, errors, steals and wild pitches. He says it right after the call on the play and before whether it tied the game or put a team ahead. While he's on, the play-by-play text on the field types in slower so it stays with him.
-
New feature
The announcer has a new voice, and you can now pick from three announcers and three umpires under Voices in Game Flow. Dan Delaney calls the game until you choose someone else, and when you're signed in your picks carry over to your next game.
-
Improvement
The umpire and announcer on/off buttons and volume sliders moved off the field and now sit under a new Voices heading in the right column's Game Flow section, so they no longer cover the ballpark. Your saved settings carry over.
-
New feature
Every Game of the Day you finish now shows up in My Saved Games, marked with the day you played it, so you can go back to its box score and newspaper anytime. Games you've already played that have a box score are there too, and deleting one from your saved games leaves it in the standings.
-
New feature
A game announcer can now call your games out loud in every mode: the welcome, the pitch, big plays, the end of each half-inning and a summary after the final out. He's turned off by default and is a very raw, experimental first version that may get some calls wrong, so turn on sound effects and click the microphone in the Announcer box to try him.

-
Improvement
The gameboard now opens at full width on big screens. If you've already picked a width or arranged your fielders, your board stays the way you set it.
-
New feature
Relievers now earn holds in every game mode. A hold shows as HLD next to the pitcher's line in the box score and text box score. It's also listed after the save in the final line and the newspaper notes. The old-time paper for 1976 and earlier leaves holds out, since nobody counted them back then. In season play it carries his count through that game, like HLD, 12. Season player stats, player pages and League Leaders have a new HLD column. Real-season stat lines show a dash for holds, since they weren't kept in the records those lines come from.
-
New feature
Newspaper articles for games with a team from 1976 or earlier now print as a 1970s-style broadsheet on aged newsprint, with your photo next to the story, a sidebar with the final score, line score and key plays, and box scores in each team's colors. The paper is called The ActionSims Herald, and you can give it a name of your own in the Newspaper Name box when you attach photos. Your name is kept for every old-time paper after that.
-
New feature
Seasons now have a Key Dates calendar on the dashboard and on a page of its own, showing Opening Day, the All-Star Game, the Field of Dreams game, the end of the regular season, the awards and each postseason round through the World Series. Each event links to its page, and postseason rounds show their planned start dates.
-
New feature
Fielders on the gameboard now move to match the defense's positioning calls, yours or the computer's: Infield In, Infield Halfway, Corners In, DP Depth, No-Doubles Depth, Outfield Shallow and Hold Runner. They stay there through the pitch and the play, then go back to their usual spots for the next batter.
-
New feature
Player Stats has an All Teams choice in its Team list, so you can browse and sort every player in the league at once. The name search now looks within whichever team (or All Teams) you've picked. Draft Seasons and custom seasons with All-Star teams also get Free Agents and All Teams + Free Agents, listing the top 100 free agents per table for the current sort with their real stats from the season they're available as.
-
Bug fix
A season team over its active roster limit now has to send someone down before its next game, whether the extra player came back from an injury or the limit dropped from 40 to 30 for the postseason. Computer-run teams make that move on their own and the season log says who went down.
-
New feature
In a Draft Season you can now release a player from your active roster or Minor Leagues. He joins the free agents as the same season he played for you, so any team in the league can call him up, and the stats he put up for you stay with your team.
-
Improvement
Turning on Real lineups and starting pitchers for a full season now turns injuries off, so real lineups and rotations stay intact. Seasons already using real lineups have injuries turned off too, and anyone who was hurt is back on the field.

New feature
A Roll Back button takes a game in progress back to any earlier at-bat and replays it from there with fresh rolls. Everything after that at-bat is erased. It isn't offered in Game of the Day, and in a game against a friend only the person who set it up can use it.
-
New feature
A Pickoff button lets you have your pitcher throw over to any base with a runner on it, up to twice per batter. Every pickoff, yours or the pitcher's own, now gets the runner about as often as that pitcher's real throws did, so left-handers catch far more runners at first. The extra rows of pitching and batting strategies also stay on the field wherever you drag their buttons.
-
New feature
OBP, SLG and OPS now show next to AVG on the Players list, player and career pages and World Series stats. League Leaders has OBP, SLG and OPS tabs too, using the same playing-time cutoff as AVG.
-
New feature
Pressed Continue to At-Bat by mistake? A Back to Baserunning button now takes you back to the steal buttons, as long as nothing else has happened in the at-bat yet.
-
New feature
Every play in the play-by-play now ends with its scorebook code, such as (6-4-3 DP), (F8) or (1B7), so you can keep score by hand as you watch. The documentation has a key to the codes.
-
New feature
While a team's lineup is introduced before its first time up, the defense warms up on the field: warm-up pitches, grounders to the infielders, outfielders playing catch and the catcher's throw down to second before the ball goes around the horn. Drag the lineup by its title to move it out of the way. The warm-up is off when animations are off.
-
New feature
League commissioners can turn Remote play off on the League Members page. Games between two owners' teams, playoffs included, are then played by the computer manager when the commissioner auto-sims them, and a head-to-head game already under way can still be finished.
-
Improvement
The front page now talks about baseball. A new panel lists every way to play, from a single game to a Negro Leagues season, and each one links to its section of the documentation.
-
New feature
The umpire now calls "Safe!" when a runner beats a throw: a stolen base, a runner waved home or sent to third who makes it, a batter stretching a hit, a runner tagging up or one scoring ahead of the throw home on a ground ball. Runners who move up with no throw on them get no call.
-
Bug fix
Moving the play result box or the play-by-play box near the edge of the field no longer squeezes it into a narrow column. It slides back inside the field and keeps its shape.
